Work requests are used to manage work in the electrical network and can be created either in the desktop version of dpPower or submitted via dpWebmap Work Request.
•Internal users can create the work request in the desktop version via the south panel in Operator.
•External users, such as contractors, can submit work requests via dpWebmap, and these will be available in the desktop version for review and further processing.
An operating order can be created directly from the work request. This makes it easy to transfer information without manually filling in data.
In order to create the work request, the WORK_REQUEST_EDIT role is required. |
When creating a new work request, the following tabs are available:
•Create work request - Fill in all general information about the work request and add Customer outage times. It is possible to add multiple customer outage times to the same work request.
•Work stages - Enter work phases and other information, such as Electrical safety supervisor and Switching supervisor.
•Attachments - Add attachments.
1.In the main menu, select Operator > Show/Hide Operator.
2.In the south panel, select the Work request tab.
3.Press on the Create work request icon .
4.Fill in the form with relevant information, pink fields are mandatory.
5.Optionally, add work:
a.In the Work stages tab, press Add .
b.Fill in the relevant information and press OK.
6.Optionally, add attachments:
a.In the Attachments tab, press Attach or Attach multiple.
b.Select the file to attach and press OK.
7.Press OK to create the work request.
The WORK_REQUEST_EDIT role is required to edit the work request. |
The work request can be edited as long as it has the state Creating or Pending amendment. For work requests with a different status, you can only edit the State and fill in Notes.
In addition, when editing, the following tabs become available:
•Announcements - View sent announcements.
•Related data - View related data, such as operating orders.
1.Open a work request:
oDouble-click a work request.
oRight-click on a work request and select Show/change attributes.
2.Edit the desired fields and press OK.
You can notify resources manually or set up so that the work request creator is automatically notified when changing states.
1.Press the icon at the bottom of the work request.
2.Select resources from the list and press Continue.
3.See section Announcement to resource for more information on resource announcements.
The creator of the work request is automatically notified when the states are changed to:
•New
•Under review
•Pending amendment
•Approved
•Rejected
1.In the menu bar, select Operator > Operator preferences.
2.In the Shared preferences > Resource announcement tab, check the Announce for state change box.
3.In the drop-down list, select the announcement template and press OK.

It is possible to create several operating orders from the same work request. If an operating order has already been created from the work request, a warning is displayed when creating a new one. |
An operating order cannot be created from a work request that is in any of the following states
•Creating
•Pending amendment
When an operating order is created from a work request, the work request state changes to Approved if it was previously in one of the following states:
•New
•Under review
1.Open a work request:
oDouble-click on a work request.
oRight-click on a work request and select Show/change attributes.
2.Press on Create operating order.
3.Select whether or not to display the new operating order in the east panel. The operating order is created with information taken from the work request. Operating orders linked to the work request are displayed in the Related data tab.
The following fields are automatically filled in the operating order:
•Title
•Voltage level
•Station
•Line - Copied from the Bay field of the work request.
•Project manager
•Work order
•Changeset
•Bookmark
•Customer outage times
•Switch times - Switching assistant and contact details, but not the times themselves.
•Operating permission
•Required tests - Added as text under the Prerequisites tab, Misc section.
•Works stages - Information is taken from the Work stages tab in the work request.
•Attachments - Attachments from the work request are copied to the Attachments tab of the operating order.
