When creating new tasks from a task template, the new task will always reside under a project. There are three possible ways of defining which project the task shall belong to:
•Create the task in an existing project.
•Create a new project which the task will belong to.
•Create the task in a default project defined by the task template.
This section describes how to configure a task template so that tasks created from this template are always placed under a certain default project.
This way of working is useful for collecting all tasks of a certain type under a selected project. For example, for maintenance tasks, inspections or service tasks that must be followed up on an annual basis against a business system or similar. |
1.In the menu bar, select Organizer > Show/Hide administration.
2.Select the Administrate projects tab.
3.Search for the default project to be used by entering search criteria and press Search.
4.Select the desired project from the list. The east panel opens.
5.In the east panel, select the Set task template tab.
6.Press Add. The dialog Task template reference opens.
7.Select the template in the list under Task template ID. See section Create task template.
A valid time can also be specified. This is useful for example in cases where the project link should be valid only for a fiscal year or similar. |
8.Press OK to create the link.
The name of the default project appears in the Default projects field in the Task templates tab of the south panel. The task templates list shows if a template is connected to a default project by using square brackets after the template name.
