Function rights editor

In the Function rights editor, you can specify which role is required to have access to a function, thus hiding functions from anyone who does not have that particular role. You can also select that Nobody should have access.

Some functions are grayed out in the Function rights editor and will always be visible to all users.

1.Create a new role in the User manager, see section The Roles tab.

2.Assign the role to the desired user, see section The Users tab.

3.In the menu bar, select Administration > Function rights editor. The Function rights editor dialog opens.

4.Select the desired function on the left.

5.In the drop-down menu on the right, select the new role created.

6.Press OK, or Apply to keep the dialog open. Now the new role is also required to access the selected function. Users who have not been assigned the new role and previously had access to the function via a standard role will now no longer be able to use the function.

Example:

You want to configure so that Function 3 can only be used by users who have been assigned an additional role via the Function rights editor.

Role required

Enabled function

ADMIN

Function 1

ADMIN

Function 2

ADMIN + New role

Function 3

Function 4

In this example, users who only have the default role ADMIN will no longer have access to Function 3, as the new role is now required to use it.
