Send auto announcements

External announcements

Automatic announcements are sent by activating the feature and configuring announcements for different scenarios. The settings control when announcements are sent and can be customized to suit the organization's needs.

To activate new settings, the application must be restarted after updating.

1.Select Operator > Operator preferences.

2.Select the tab Shared preferences > External announcements.

3.Check Auto-announce. Now automatic announcements are activated and settings, such as when these announcements should be sent and not, can be made.

To turn off automatic announcements, uncheck the Auto-announce box.

4.Decide for which scenarios automatic announcements should be sent by selecting Yes or No in the respective drop-down menu. For some scenarios, you can also select Ask in the drop-down menu, then you will get a dialog asking if you want to send an announcement when the current scenario occurs.

When the option Outage ends > Automatic in case of > Delivery point energized for (min) is used for announcements after an outage, it is important to choose an appropriate time setting. If the time is set too short, announcements may be sent unnecessarily indicating that the outage has ended, if the power temporarily returns but then disappears again.

When the Confirmed cause option is used for announcements after an outage, the cause is retrieved from the Fault cause field in the east panel under Info > Other info, Faulty component section.

5.Select the desired template for the announcement. See section Announcement administration for a description of how announcement templates are managed.

6.Press OK to save and close the dialog box. To save the settings without closing the dialog box, press Apply.

7.Restart the application to activate new settings.
