The Related data menu contains functions for creating and managing supplementary information linked to objects in the network.
The available functions depend on the object type.
Function |
Description |
Create Endpoint Line |
Creates or updates a straight line between the object’s endpoints. |
Geographic Layout Line |
Functions for generating, checking, and updating geographic layout lines. |
Select Product Specification |
Links a product specification to one or more objects. |
Generate underlying objects |
Creates underlying objects based on the selected object type. |
Cables and services can be represented by an endpoint line on the map. An endpoint line is a straight line between the object’s endpoints.
The Create Endpoint Line function is used to create or update such a line.
If the object already has an endpoint line, the system first checks whether the line’s endpoints match the object’s current endpoints. If the endpoints no longer match, the line is automatically recreated.
If multiple objects share the same endpoints, their endpoint lines may overlap. If necessary, the line can be adjusted by adding breakpoints between the endpoints.
Geographic layout lines are used to visualize the actual route of cables, pipes/ducts, and multi-ducts on the map.
These functions are used to generate, check, and update geographic layout lines, as well as initial geographic layout lines for multi-ducts.
For more information, see the section Working with geographical layout lines.
Product specifications are used to link technical information to objects in the network.
The Select Product Specification function is used to link a product specification to one or more objects.
For more information, see the section Using product specifications.
The "Generate Child Objects" function is used to create objects that are subordinate to one or more existing objects, such as fibers, cables, or connectors.
The type of object generated depends on the selected object type.
For more information, see the section Generate underlying objects.
