The Generate underlying objects function is used to create objects that are subordinate to one or more existing objects.

The type of object generated depends on the object type to which the function is applied. Examples of underlying objects include fibers, ducts, and connectors.

The function can be applied to one or more objects simultaneously.

 

Generate Underlying Objects

1.Open the Query Tool.

2.Search for the relevant object type using the Search tab.

3.Select one or more objects in the results list.

4.Right-click the selection.

5.Select Related data > Generate Underlying objects.

 

The underlying objects are created for the selected objects.

 

Confirm the generation

In some cases, the underlying objects require additional information before they can be generated.

If this is the case, a dialog box appears with information that must be reviewed and confirmed before generation can continue.

 

Handling locked objects

If one or more of the selected objects are locked by another user, a message appears.

You can then choose to skip the locked objects and continue generating the remaining objects.
