Information relevant to an on-going outage is shown under the Outage tab.
Some fields can be modified by the operation manager. These adjustments will take effect once they are saved using the Save button.
The Status field shows the current status of the outage.
Not verified |
dpCom will group incoming fault reports to probable faults. These will however not be considered actual outages until they are manually set to Verified. |
Verified |
This status indicates an on-going outage. All outages that are manually created by an operation manager are assigned this status by default. An outage with the status Not Verified can be manually set to Verified by the operation manager. Note that no customers are considered to be affected when the status of an outage is set to Verified. Customers are only considered affected once a row in the operation schedule has been executed. |
Fixed |
When an outage is ended, that is, when all customers have regained delivery and no more operations should be executed, the operation manager should set the status to Fixed. It is only possible to set the status to Fixed when all customers have regained delivery. The status Fixed indicates that no more urgent operations have to be executed but administrative tasks remain in order to get full outage history. |
Ended |
When all mandatory information regarding the outage is set under the Outage tab, the operation manager can change the status to Ended. An outage with the status Ended will not appear in the list of outages (assuming the filter is set to All active). It will instead appear in the outage history. |
Invalid |
If a created outage later is shown to be invalid, the status of the outage should be set to Invalid. An outage with the status Invalid will not be shown in the list of outages unless it is explicitly specified in the filter. All operations in the operation schedule are reverted when an outage is set to Invalid. Note: It is not possible to change the status of an outage from Invalid. Invalid outages will not appear in outage statistics. |
For each status, it is possible to specify which fields that should be mandatory. It is not possible to save an outage if one or more mandatory field are left empty. An error message is shown.
This is especially useful when outages are set to Ended, as it ensures that all necessary information will be in the outage statistics.
The field Type can only be set when creating an outage. The available values are Unplanned outage, Planned outage or Operating order.
The field Outage ID displays an automatically generated number used to identify the outage.
Reported time - Time when the outage was created or reported.
Start time - Time when the first operation is executed.
End time - Time when the outage is set to Fixed.
Planned start time and Planned end time - Are specified to allow customer services to inform customers about current outages.
