There are a number of tools that let you see and work with selected map data in the graphic views, and navigate quickly to chosen sections of the map. This section covers the tools and functions you use to zoom and pan in the graphical view.
Use the tool Zoom in to show a smaller and more detailed area of the graphical view. When you zoom in, the map scale increases, and objects in the map appear larger.
Use the tool Zoom out to show a larger area of the graphical view, with a more generalized map content. When you zoom out, the map scale decreases and objects in the map appear smaller.
1.Select Zoom in or Zoom out:
oZoom in:
a.Select Window > Zoom > Zoom in or use the toolbar button in the Toolbar.
a.Select an area in the graphical view to zoom in. For each left-click, the map scale increases by a factor 2, for example from 1:2000 till 1:1000.
oZoom out:
a.Select Window > Zoom > Zoom out or use the toolbar button in the Toolbar.
a.Select an area in the graphical view to zoom out. For each left-click, the map scale decreases by a factor 2, for example from 1:1000 till 1:2000.
You can also zoom to a particular map area:
1.Press the left mouse button and drag the cursor to create a box in the map.
2.Release the mouse button to zoom in or out to the defined area.
If the mouse is equipped with a scroll wheel, scroll the wheel forward to zoom in, and backwards to zoom out in the map. |
Use the Pan tool to move the map in any direction, thereby displaying new sections of the map.
Select Window > Zoom > Pan, or press in the Toolbar. You can also activate the Pan tool by pressing and holding Shift on your keyboard.
When you have activated the pan tool the pan icon is displayed instead of the mouse cursor.
To pan the map, left-click, hold and move the map in any direction.
If you activated a tool in the application, for example while drawing a line in the graphic view, you may at any time activate the Pan tool by pressing and holding down the Shift key. Once you release the Shift-key, the previous tool becomes active again and you may continue where you left off. |
