Navigating the map

This section describes additional ways to navigate in the graphic view, how you move from one map section to another.

Press Alt + Home to navigate back to the original map view.

Previous and Next location

As you are working, the application stores a history of all the map locations you have shown in the graphic view during a session, much like your web browser keeps track of recently visited web pages when you browse the Internet.

Press Previous location and Next location to move quickly between locations you have visited in the graphic view, similar to how you use the buttons "Back" and "Forward" in a web browser.

It is also possible to use the backwards and forward button on your mouse if the buttons exists, to get to the previous or next location.

The history of visited map locations is erased when you close the application.

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are used to quickly navigate to specific areas of the map, such as areas that you regularly work with or return to frequently. The bookmarks you create are linked to your user and to the application or applications from Digpro you work in.

There are also opportunities to create common bookmarks for all users in your organization, Shared bookmarks. These bookmarks can be linked to one or more applications from Digpro. Creating shared bookmarks requires rights as a system administrator. See section Managing Shared Bookmarks.

When you create a bookmark, it is added to a list under Window > Bookmarks. Shared bookmarks are found in another list under Window > Shared bookmarks.

To navigate to an area marked with a bookmark, select the current bookmark from one of the lists. The active view zooms to the map area of the bookmark.

Read more about Bookmarks under Menu reference > Window > Bookmarks.
