All objects created in the system are assigned a state. The object's states affect both how the object is displayed on the map and what actions can be performed on the object. States are also used as criteria for filtering and displaying objects in different parts of the system.
An object's states can be displayed in several different ways in the application
•in the name list at the top of the object's attribute form
•through different state colors in the map
•via the Change States menu option in the object's right-click menu
•in the System attributes of component pop-up window when you point to a component in the map
To view the system attributes of a component, select: View > System attributes for component. |
The states that are available depend on:
•which application is used
•the type of object involved
Each organization can also choose which states to use and for which objects they should be available.
Objects in different states are displayed with different colors in the map to make it easier to distinguish them visually.
The state colors can be:
•configured centrally by the system administrator
•customized individually by each user
It is also possible to control which states are shown or hidden in the map. These settings can be made at both system and user level.
