The attribute States allows for dpPower to be used in all phases of a network's life cycle. Each object that is created and placed is assigned a state. The object's state controls what operations can be performed and how the object is displayed in the map. The states are also used as criterion for filtering the objects for different purposes.
The state of an object is shown:
•In the title bar at the top of the attribute form of the object.
•By displaying the objects in the map in different state colors.
•With the menu option Change state in the right-click menu.
•In the pop-up window System attributes for component when you hover over a component in the map. Select the menu option Show > System attributes for component.
The states that are available depend on the application and object type. Also, each organization can make its own selection of states and decide which objects they apply to.
Objects in different states are displayed in different colors in the map. The state colors can be configured for the organization by the system administrator, but each user can also configure their own state colors. Which state objects to show or hide on the map can also be determined at both system and user level.
