<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> dpPower > Menu reference > Edit > Show/change attributes |
Opens a form that contains and gathers a wealth of information about an object's mainly non-geometric properties. Examples of such attribute data are ID number, street address, subtype, make, operational date and installation.
How attribute forms are designed depends on the type of object they are associated with. There are complex attribute forms that contain more than 10 tabs where each tab in turn contains a large number of attributes. Other object types have very simple attribute forms that may only contain a couple, three attributes, of which only one is editable. Common to all types of attribute forms is that they are designed so that the user can easily read out and change typical properties that describe an object type in different ways. Tabs are used to group and organize information about an object. By clicking on a tab, a category information about the object is displayed.
Information about an object can be entered in several different ways: in text fields you can enter free text, in drop-down lists you choose instead one of several predefined values that can describe an attribute of the object. Drop-down lists make it easy to set attributes and also provide good data quality because drop-down lists only contain approved values. There are also attribute forms where you select dates from built-in calendars.
All attribute forms in all applications and modules are built on the same principles:
The title bar displays information about the object's subtype and stage.
The information is grouped into tabs. The object data tab is the default and the content provides quick access to the most common attributes.
In text fields, any text can be specified.
The drop-down lists contain predefined options. They can be linked, ie. that the choices you make in one drop-down list control the possibilities in another. The basis for the contents of the drop-down lists are code lists.
Press on the calendar to select the date or enter it directly in the field.
Some attributes are generated automatically and / or linked to code lists
In the Search field you can search for specific fields in the entire attribute form in all tabs. If the field you have searched for is in the tab that is open, the text is highlighted in yellow. If the field were in another tab, that tab will have a blue circle to show which tab the searched field is in.
To undo a change to a field in the attribute form, you can do one of the following: •Press Ctrl + z. •Right-click in the field and select Undo all changes. This will reset the field to the last saved value. |
1.Select Edit > Show / Change Attributes.
2.Select an object in the graphic view. The attribute form opens.
If you as a user have the right to write in the system, you can change, add and delete attribute data. If you only have read rights in the system, the attribute form shows all input boxes grayed out, and you can then only read the information, not edit it. The same applies to objects that are locked, ie objects that are currently being edited in another pessimistic changeset.
Some objects have mandatory attributes. Values for these must be specified when the object is first placed in the graphical view. Typically, the ID attribute is mandatory, but other attributes may also be mandatory. Incomplete mandatory attributes are indicated by pink text fields. The names of the tabs that have pink text fields are red. |
You can link external documents in the attribute forms that further describe an object in dpPower. This can be drawings that show in detail the appearance of a line type, image material produced in connection with an inspection or review, or some other type of supplementary information about an object that is contained in documents outside dpPower.
The documents can be linked to objects in two ways:
•Linked documents - Documents that are linked to objects with links. If the documents are stored on a common network, they are accessed by all users with access to the network.
•Database documents - Documents that are linked to objects and stored in the database in <% PRODUCT%>. They can also be displayed in the <% PRODUCT%> Webmap. In Organizer Webmap, they can also be created, edited and saved.
The maximum pixel size for a database document is 7000×7000 pixels. |
The documents are displayed in a table. Press the arrow on the far right of the table header row to select which columns to display. |
If an object has linked documents, this is marked by an asterisk (*) in the tab.
Add link to external document |
Opens the Linked Documents window. Press Select file to select a file on the file server, or the Select URL button to enter the URL you want to link to the object. Created by, Created Date, File Description and Document Type are not mandatory information. |
|
Add several new linked documents |
Open the Attach / Select File window. |
|
Edit linked document |
Edit information about an attached document / file that you have selected in the list. |
|
Showed linked document |
Open and view the selected document / file. When the button is used and the document / file has the file extension .dxf, .dgn, .shp or .txy, select how to open the file. If you select with associated program, the document is displayed in the default program for the current document type / file type. The option "As reference file" opens the file as a reference file. |
|
Create a new DB document from linked document |
Save selected, linked document as database document. A copy of the document is also saved in the database. |
|
Remove linked document |
Delete selected document / file. |
|
Show archived documents |
Documents can have the status Active or Archived.
1.Select the row with the desired document and press .
2.In the dropdown menu for Document status, select Active or Archived, and press OK.
3.To display archived documents in the list of documents, press .
4.Check the box Show archived documents.
Double-click on an object in the view so that a window opens. Under the Related Data tab of the object, a tree view of the current object and its links to other objects is displayed. In NIS applications, the tree view describes the topology of a network of objects.
Below each object is presented a selection of attributes that describe the object.
Right-click on objects in the tree view, to see that they are highlighted in a active graphic view.
Right-click on an object in the tree view opens a right-click menu that contains object-specific options.
Here you can add customer equipment to an object.
1.In the Customer equipment tab, press Create object and select between:
oBattery
oInternal load
oGenerator
2.Select State and press OK.
The added customer equipment is displayed with an icon on the map, next to the object it belongs to.
Different symbols for the customer equipment can be displayed depending on the Production type. This requires that all generators under the delivery point are of the same production type and that the delivery point does not contain any other types of customer equipment. The appearance of the symbol is set under Administration > Map product > Drawing attributes administration tool > Alternative drawing attributes and is controlled by the display_flag. The display_flag number is found in the code list for the generator's production type. If the generators have different production types or if there are both generators and batteries, the display_flag will be 95. If there are only batteries, the display_flag will be 96. |
If the status is changed to any of the following, the icon is removed from the map and from the Customer equipment tab: •Destroyed •Discarded •Out of operation •Out of operation, planned for destruction •Not verified •Built, not in use |
Press the icon You can also open the attribute form from the quick search function for the object by selecting the object in the list and press Ctrl-Enter. See Tools > Quick search or press Ctrl - f. |
If you have linked an image in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format, in some cases a preview of the image will appear in the main tab of the attribute form or in the Documents tab, depending on the application being used.
