Product administration

In Product administration, you can create, edit and manage map products and product classes.

A map product - referred to as Product in the tool - is a collection of graphical components that together form a map or schema in the application's graphical view. Each map product can display a specific theme, such as geographic location information or schematic representations of selected object types.

Map products consist of one or more Product classes, which in turn contain graphical components linked to specific object types. Grouping components into product classes makes it easier to reuse the same sets in different map products and to create new products with a consistent structure and appearance. Product classes also make it easier to work with drawing attributes as these can be managed per group instead of per individual component.

A combination of an object type-object subtype-component type (a component) can only occur once in a product. If two product classes contain the same component, they cannot be used together without removing one of the components.

To edit products and product classes, the MANAGEATTRIBUTES role is required.

 

Show available map products and product classes

1.Select Settings > Turn sidebar on/off (F9). The sidebar opens.

2.Select the Map tab. The drop-down list shows the available map products.

3.Select a map product to display its product classes in the tree structure.

4.Select a product class to display its object types and graphical components.

 

Show editing history

Specific map product or product class:

1.Select Administration > Map product > Product administration.

2.Select the map product or product class in the table.

3.Press on History.

 

All history:

1.Select Administration > Map product > Product administration.

2.Press on All history. A history summary appears in a new window.

 

Export history:

For Excel: Press Export to Spreadsheet and select Open or Save.

For PDF: Press Export to PDF and choose how to save the file.

 

Create and edit map products and product classes

Create new

1.Select Administration > Map product > Product administration.

2.Select the tab Create product or Create product class.

3.Enter Name and unique ID.

4.Press Save.

In the typical case, a free ID is automatically assigned. In other cases, the customer receives a fixed interval from Digpro.

 

Create as copy

1.Select the tab Create product as copy or Create product class as copy.

2.Enter the name and select which product or product class to copy.

3.Check Copy drawing attributes? if you want to keep the same appearance as the original.

4.Check Copy alternative drawing attributes? if you want to use the drawing attributes that control and customize drawing in the map data with respect to the states.

5.Press Save.

 

Edit

1.Select the Edit products tab or Edit product classes tab.

2.Change the name:

a.Double-click in the Database name column and enter a new name.

b.Press Save.

The I18 name column is not editable.

3.Add or remove:

a.Select the product or product class and press Edit.

b.Add via the Available table or remove via the Selected table.

c.Press Save.

Use the Reference product or Reference product class drop-down list to copy drawing attributes from an existing one, or select No product/product class for default drawing attributes.
