To be able to make changes to a process without them being visible to all users until ready, all changes in WorkflowStudio are stored in a planning version.
All planning versions are linked to a user. A user can have multiple planning versions. Each planning version has a unique name and system ID. The work with planning versions in WorkflowStudio is in many ways similar to the work with the changeset in dpSpatial.
When you first work on a process in WorkflowStudio, you do so in a new planning version. This opens automatically each time you start WorkflowStudio. Planning versions are displayed in a tree structure under the tab Planning version in the sidebar.
During work, you can create a new planning version to save changes without posting. To continue working in the saved planning version, you must actively select the planning version. The name of the active planning version is shown in bold. You can also edit the names of your saved planning versions. If you made your changes in the automatically created planning version, you will be asked to post changes when you close WorkflowStudio. If you create a new planning version and make your changes in it, you do not need to post your changes, they will be automatically saved and available in the selected planning version the next time you open WorkflowStudio.
The planning versions are only visible to you and they are only saved in WorkflowStudio. You can undo all changes in a planning version. When you are satisfied with your planning, post the changes to the database to make the changes visible for all users in WorkflowStudio.
