When can progress conditions be used

Progress conditions can be defined for activities, decision points and single decisions. When defining progress conditions for an entire decision point, it works in the same way as when defining progress conditions for an entire activity. When all the defined conditions are met, the activity is allowed to be closed and is automatically given a finish date, whereby the workflow will continue to the next stage. It is also possible to define more than one condition for an activity as well as for a particular decisions within a decision point. In these cases the condition will only be tested if the user attempts to make that particular decision. The condition will not have any effect if the user attempts to make a decision in any of the other decisions available in the decision point.

Progress conditions which are defined in a workflow can be applied both in office clients and in mobile clients. Progress conditions are not visible in the application until the user tries to end an activity or make a particular decisions within a decision point. If the condition is fulfilled, no information will be given and the workflow will continue as expected. However, if the condition is not fulfilled, a window will be displayed giving reasons to why, as well as expected action. The workflow will not continue and the current activity or decision point will remain open and active.
