Milestones

Milestones are used in a workflow for marking important points-in-time (deadlines). When the activities tells us what to be done (and in what order) the milestones indicates when the workflow is expected to have reached a certain stage. Milestones can be inserted in the workflow of an existing task or in a task template.

Milestone types are defined in the code list DSG – MILESTONE_TYPE_CL. Here, the names of the milestone types to be used in the different workflows, are defined. The milestone types are only placeholders. The same milestone type can be re-used in different workflows. For example, it is possible to use a milestone type "Ready to operate" in workflows for both repair tasks as well as tasks for building new networks.

The code list for milestone types is shared across all applications that uses Organizer. In a multi-application environment, an administrator can decide for which applications a milestone type should be available, see section Decide which applications an item type should be available in.

For information on codelists, see section Codelists and its subsections.
