To view and work with selected portions of map data in the graphical views, and to quickly navigate to selected sections of the map, there are a number of tools and features you can use. This section covers the tools and features used for zooming and panning in the application’s graphical views.
Use the Zoom In tool if you want to display a smaller area in the graphical view and see more details on the map. When you zoom in on the map, the map scale increases.
Use the Zoom Out tool if you want to view a larger area of the map where the content is more generalized. When you zoom out on the map, the map scale decreases.
1.Select Zoom In or Zoom Out:
oZoom In:
a.Select Window > Zoom > Zoom In from the menu bar, or click the in the toolbar.
b.Left-click in the graphical view to zoom in. Each time you left-click, the scale increases by a factor of 2, for example, from 1:2000 to 1:1000.
oZoom out:
a.Select Window > Zoom > Zoom Out from the menu bar, or click the “ ” button on the toolbar.
a.Left-click in the graphical view to zoom out. Each time you left-click, the scale is reduced by a factor of 2, for example, from a scale of 1:1000 to a scale of 1:2000.
You can also zoom in on a specific area of the map:
1.Left-click, hold down the left button, and drag the mouse to create a box on the map.
2.Release the mouse button to zoom in or out on the area within the box.
If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can use it to zoom in and out on the map. Scroll the wheel forward to zoom in, and scroll backward to zoom out. |
