The possibility to specify the exposure of templates is useful for creating a good user interface. Templates which are used only in decisions for adding-in activities in a task, should in many cases not be available for use when creating new tasks. Hence, they should not be exposed in the user interface, something that is accommodated by not assigning any of the components for exposure. Similarly, the exposure of templates for use in Organizer Webmap can then be limited to only those task types that should be created from the field.
In order for task templates to become available for use in Organizer and Organizer Webmap when creating new tasks, they need to be configured for exposure. This is done in the templates first tab Template data in the Cluster usage section.
In the field Used in the following options are available:
•dpSpatial – The template will be available for selection in the Organizer-application in the office-client (Java).
•Organizer Webmap – The template will be available for selection when creating new tasks from Organizer Webmap.
In order for the template to be visible in Organizer Webmap, it also requires an assigned ID. See section Create task template. |
•(Opto Patch has a specific use for certain task types in the dpCom application.)
It is possible to add more than one component. The task template will then be exposed in more than one environment. It is also possible to not add a component. Then, the template will not be exposed for use in any of the environments when creating templates.
A valid time interval can be specified for a component. In the above example, the template will be exposed during the full year of 2020 for creating tasks from Organizer Webmap. If no valid dates are specified, the template will be continuously available, without any time restrictions.
If a template is not visible when it should be used, you have often forgotten to configure its usage. Or the validity period has expired if such dates have been configured. Get in the habit of checking this first, before doing further troubleshooting. |
