The Operator module has the ability to manage fault reports from customers. It can be used as a separate customer service where the communication between the operational staff and customer service is enabled using the Operator module.
The fault report function can also be used by the operating staff/department if the reporting goes there directly. The operator module will in this case, act as a logging function as well for the received fault reports.
The button Create fault report allows you to create a new fault report. More information about this is found in the section Create new fault report.
With the button Create info report it is possible to link an info report to an object in the network. An outage for that object, with the outage type Observation, is automatically generated. This function differs from the fault report since the info report is not linked to a customer and will not be encountered for in the calculations for the outage type Not verified.
Some of the fields in the dialog are mandatory and the OK button in the lower right corner will not be enabled until these fields are entered. To create an info report enter relevant data in the fields and press OK.
The button Select network object in map allows you to select an object in the map that the Info report should be applicable for.
Network object and Object type is added automatically and to display the object in the active view, press the button Show in active view .
The customer is located by giving any of the following search criteria:
Name, Address, Locality Phone or ID.
Customers that matches these criteria are shown to the left in a customer list. Select a customer to view detailed information in the east panel. If you double-click a customer, the map simultaneously zooms in on the customer's delivery point.
Details for the customer can be shown by using right-click for each selected customer.
In this tab, that is located to the right in the south panel, information regarding current outages are displayed. If a current outage is present the most important information is displayed such as, planned restoration time for the outage etc.
If no current outage can be found the message says "No outage reported".
If the message also reads "Delivery point out of power", it means that this network part is, most likely, due to a faulty documentation, not connected to a feeding point. A delivery point is only considered as fed, if it has feeding from an in use and posted network and is fed from either an equivalent source or by a reserve power generator.
The tab Outages history displays the historic outages that this customer has been affected by. By using right-click on an outage, you will find more information regarding the outage. Show outage details will display information regarding the selected outage in the east panel.
The tab Calls, displays all the fault reports that a customer has created. Note that you will not find a one to one relation between outages and calls as the customer may have been involved in a number of outages without having reported the complaints. Also a fault report will not always result in an outage.
Shows a table with performed announcements made for this customer.
Select an announcement in the list and use right-click. Select the alternative Announcement to show more information regarding that specific announcement.
