Login message editor

The function Create and Login message editor allows you to send important messages directly in the application. You can send the following messages:

Normal: Are shown in the login box during the specified validity period

Urgent: Are shown directly as a new row directly below the toolbar in the application window. The user can remove the new line by clicking it, otherwise the line will disappear when the message becomes inactive or is deleted by the administrator.

Client shutdown: A message which also means that the user sessions are terminated within 120 seconds after the message is shown. The user sessions are closed but the application windows are still open on the user screens.

 

Create a new login messages

1.Go to Administration > Login message editor. A dialog box opens.

2.Click the New button. The dialog box Create new login message opens.

3.Select the type of message you want to send: Normal, Urgent or Client shutdown.

4.In the Message field, type the message you want to send.

5.Do one of the following:

For normal messages: Specify the date and time for when you want the message to start and stop to be shown, respectively.

For client shutdown: Specify the date and time for when you want the message to start to be shown.

6.Click the OK button.

7.If you have selected client shutdown, you will get a warning about what a client shutdown may cause. To complete the client shutdown, confirm the warning and click the OK button.

 

Edit or delete login messages

1.Go to Administration > Login message editor.  A dialog box opens.

2.Select the message and then select one of the following options:

To delete an existing message, click the Delete button. The message disappears from the dialog box.

To edit an existing message, click the Edit button. The dialog box Edit existing login message opens:

3.Select the type of message you want to send: Normal, Urgent or Client shutdown.

4.In the Message field, type the message you want to send.

5.Do one of the following:

For client shutdown: Specify the date and time for when you want the message to start to be shown.

6.Click the OK button

7.If you have selected client shutdown, you will get a warning about what a client shutdown may cause. To complete the client shutdown, confirm the warning and click the OK button.
