Linked outages

As soon as a switching operation has been executed in the Operating order module, an outage is created in the background.

The outage is shown in its own tab next to the tab operating order. In the tab there are several underlying tabs - one for each outage. Only one outage at the time can be active (the text "Active" is shown after the outage number in the tab). As long as there are no currently affected customers in the operating order, active outages can hence be missing.

A linked active outage is archived automatically when the state for the operating order is set to Fixed.

Some information (External and Internal notification or Start and End time) are copied to the outage from the operating order (from the outage time), when the outage is created. The planned end time for ongoing underlying outages is displayed as the operating order's planned end time in the Outages tab of the south panel.

This information is not automatically updated if the outage already exists. See section Edit underlying outages below.

Edit underlying outages

The goal of operating order module is that the operators should not have to concern themselves with the underlying outages that the operating order causes. There are some pragmatic steps from this principle:

The fault type Completely de-energized is chosen automatically. If the fault type should be something else it is possible to change it in the outage.

Planned restored time can be changed - this is first and foremost useful when the results are published on the web.

External notification can be changed - this is also useful when outages are published on the web.

Internal notification and Notification under the tab Other info can be updated - depending on the work flow it can be very useful for e.g customer support to add notifications this way. There is a risk though that the operator is missing these updates if the alarm function is unavailable.

Publishing outages on the web works in the same fashion as other outages (auto publishing and a checkbox for publish).

Archive outages

An operating order can be active for several weeks. The Operations center probably do not want outages without affected customers that blocks the view in the outage list. It is possible to archive the active outages by pressing the button Archive active outage in the toolbar underneath the operation rows. A new outage can be created when needed, when the operating order continues, according to what has been stated in the preamble above.
