The projects displayed in WorkPlanner are entered in Organizer. That is where the baseline of the projects is. In WorkPlanner, all work with projects and tasks is made in a planning version. Only when the planning version is posted is the project updated in Organizer and the changes saved in the baseline. The changes are then shown to all users.
All planning versions are linked to a user. A user can have multiple planning versions. Each planning version has a unique name and system ID.
The work with planning versions in WorkPlanner is in many ways similar to the work with the changeset in dpSpatial.
When you first work on a project or task in WorkPlanner, you do so in a new planning version. This opens automatically each time you start WorkPlanner. Planning versions are displayed in a tree structure under the tab Planning version in the sidebar. The name of the active planning version is shown in bold.
The planning versions are only visible to you and they are only saved in WorkPlanner. You can undo all changes in a planning version. When you are satisfied with your planning, post the changes to the database. Then the projects and tasks in Organizer are updated.
During work, you can save the changes in a planning version by saving it with a new name. To continue working in the saved planning version, you must actively select it. The changes you make in the saved planning version are saved automatically.
You can also edit the names of your saved planning versions.
Each time you start WorkPlanner, the planning version New automatically opens with a unique system ID in parentheses.
Planning version New with its unique system ID is always in the folder structure. When you want, you can use it to name and save it with a new name and new system ID.
