<< Click to Display Table of Contents >> Operator > Announcements |
Note: The Announcement tab is only available for customers who has the Announcement feature installed. The feature is not included per default. If you want the feature installed, contact your customer manager at Digpro.
The chapter below describes how to create announcements. It is also possible to announce by creating and using your own announcement templates using Tools > Announcement > Create announcement template for subscriptions/customer facilities or Create announcement template for customer. See section Announcement templates for more information on how to create announcement templates.
Start Operator using Operator > Show/hide Operator. In the south panel, select the tab Outages. Here you can either create new outages that shall be announced, or select an already existing outage in the list to announce. When an outage has been created or an outage has been selected in the list, the east panel opens. Select the Customer tab. Select the or those customers that should be announced about the outage and press Announce customers.
In the dialog box Announcement case that opens, performed announcements are displayed with announcement name and state in the upper left corner. When the dialog opens, the announcement is named by default. Mark the row and press the Rename announcement button to change the name of the announcement.
In the dialog box there are three folders to work with: Data, Announcements and State.
In the Data folder you select who or which shall be announced about the outage i.e. the recipient. In Time spans you enter how long the outage is going to be.
In the Announcement folder you will find the announcement types that you have selected for the announcement. This is why nothing is shown in the Announcement folder by default but only by active choices.
In the Status of notifications folder you can see if announcements has been sent to customers or not.
As described above, the folder Announcements must be activated by the user. This is done by marking an announcement, opening the map Data > Recipient and mark the or those customers that shall be announced. Press the tool buttons to create either an email-announcement, a mail-announcement or an SMS-announcement. Observe that different customers may have different types of announcements installed in their software.
1. Mark an announcement template.
2. Open the folder Data > Recipients. Mark the/those customers to announce.
3. Select announcement type.
When type of announcement is selected, the type will be displayed in the map Announcements:
Open the map Announcements > Other system. Select between the available announcement templates.
Creating a mail announcement works the same way as for email.
Press the button Send announcement.
When sending mail, a PDF containing the preselected substitution variables opens. When announcing through email no confirmations dialog will open. When using email announcement you can instead use the map Status of notifications > Email. Here the sent email announcements are displayed. Mark the announcement row that you wish to show status for. Then press the tool button Show announcement .
A summary of the emailed announcement opens.
The announcement is only sent if the customer / outage has all substitution variables in the used template. |
When several customers are announced, customers who lack information for substitution variables will not be notified. However, this does not prevent the rest of the customers who have the correct information from being notified.
