This tool splits routes when they intersect with either road center lines or polygons from the background map.

The primary use case for this tool is for an underground (UG) design with new trenches, though other use cases may also be valid. The design may initially be created with nodes and routes without special consideration for the properties of the routes when crossing roads or entering properties.

Once the route objects are established in an area, this tool can be used to automatically split the routes when they cross roads or enter and leave specific types of land. The properties, such as subtype and attributes like route type, method, and ground above, are defined in the tool's configuration. This enables the design to be used for more accurate cost estimates, for example, in the Designer module.
