This function is used to move and reconnect a cable from a rack to a rack unit, and vice versa. The function is executed in the automatically generated view, showing node content.
If you, for example, have fibers in a cable that is connected to the connectors in an ODF, it is possible to move and connect the cable to the rack without disconnecting the fibers and connect the fibers manually again. The function is applicable to copper cables as well.
1.Right-click on the node in the position map and select Show node content. The actual rack and the rack unit are shown in the automatically generated view.
2.Select Edit > Cable > Move cable between rack and rack unit and select a cable in the automatically generated view. Or right-click on a cable and then select Edit object > Move cable between rack and rack unit from the right-click menu. The dialog Move cable between rack and rack unit opens.
3.Press OK to confirm that the cable should be moved according to the dialog. The graphics in the automatically generated view are updated.
