The Assign cassette function is used to quickly assign positions for fiber joints in one or more cassettes in a fiber joint closure. The function is based on the number of fiber joints in the fiber joint closure and automatically assigns the fiber joints positions in one or more cassettes based on the size of the cassettes.
1.Select Tools > Assign cassette.
2.Select a feeding cable connected to a fiber joint closure or ODF in the map view.
3.Select the fiber joint closure or ODF to which the cable is connected. The Enter values... dialog box opens.
4.To assign positions to the fiber joints starting at the first position in the first cassette:
a. In the field Cassette size: Enter the cassette size.
b. In the field Number of cassettes: Enter the number of cassettes.
c. In the fields Start value for cassette and Start value for position in cassette: Leave the default value 1.
5.Press OK. The fiber joints are assigned positions in one or more cassettes. The assignment starts in the first position in the first cassette.
6.If there are additional cables connected to the fiber joint closure or ODF, select one of these in the map veiw.
7.Select the fiber joint closure or ODF again.
8.To assign positions to the fiber joints from this cable in any of the remaining cassettes:
a.In the field Cassette size: Make sure the cassette size is correct.
b.In the field Number of cassettes: Make sure the number of cassettes is correct.
c.In the field Start value for cassette: Enter the number of the cassette in which the assignment of positions is to start.
d.In the field Start value for position in cassette: Enter the number of the position in the cassette that is specified as the start value in which the assignment of positions should start.
8.Press OK. The fiber joints are assigned positions in one or more cassettes. The assignment starts at the position specified as the start value for position in cassette, in the cassette specified as the start value for cassette.

Fibers 1-16 are assigned positions 1-16 in cassette 1
Fibers 17-24 are assigned to positions 1-8 in cassette 2
