Workflow - configuration

Each task can, but need not, have a workflow. A workflow is a sequence of events that defines what to be done in the task, in which order and on which times. The workflow can be said to drive the task forward.

A workflow can contain three types of events:

Activities – Describes work portions in different stages of the task.

Decision points – Makes it possible to steer the workflow by making decisions.

Milestones – Define time-critical passage points in the workflow.

In order to set up the workflow in a task, the user can build and configure each individual task, or choose to base the task on a template which contains a predefined workflow. This user guide addresses the parts of the system where administrators defines and configures the basics in Organizer to be able to build workflows adapted to the organization’s needs. For a more detailed instruction on how to create tasks and how to build task templates, please reference the Organizer user guide.

It is further assumed that the reader is familiar with working with code lists in dpSpatial. In order to do this, the user will need to have certain administrative rights (roles) in the system. For more information, please reference the dpSpatial Administration guide.
