Shunt capacitor

Mandatory data in order for a calculation to be done:

Data for a calculation can be stated in two different ways:

 

1.As power.

Rated voltage (kV)

Active power (kW) Rated power active part.

Reactive power (kVAr) Rated power reactive part.

 

2.As impedance.

Resistance (Ohm) Positive sequence resistance.

Reactance (Ohm) Positive sequence reactance.

 

If Reactive power is set to = 0 and a voltage is stated the calculation program will hold the stated voltage at the shunt point (Bus bar), and produce the necessary reactive power in order to keep the voltage fixed. (PV-node).

If the main attribute data is not specified, the rated voltage, active power, and capacitive reactive power values from the Capacitor type codelist (ELCAPTYPE_CL) are used. Similarly, if the main attribute values are not provided, the rated voltage, rated resistance, and rated capacitive reactance values from the codelist are applied in the calculations.
