Plan templates

Requires Maintainer Advanced.

With plan templates, flexible inspection plans for objects can be set up with different inspection types and intervals.

Create a new plan template

When you have the inspection types that should be performed, plan templates can be created.

1.Select Maintainer > Edit plan templates.

2.Press Create to create a new plan template. The Create new plan window opens.

3.Select if the plan template should be created as:

oSubtype - the plan is created for a predefined subtype.

oCustomized - the plan is created for any object.

4.Set a Category by either selecting an existing category or free text. It is possible to have several plan templates under the same category.

5.Put Name for the plan with free text.

6.Define the number of units (rows) to be included in the phase in the Period drop-down list.

7.Define the time unit for the phase in the Unit drop-down list.

8.Select whether the phase should be repeated indefinitely or select the number of repetitions for the phase.

9.Specify the types of inspections to be performed and at what time interval.

The different inspection types to be included in the plan template are set up separately in the Codelist manager.

Add a new inspection type:

1.Press Open the codelist manager .

2.Press Add .

3.Fill in Text, select Type and press Save.

10. Press Save to save the template.

Use case example

An inspection template with a 4-year interval is created with the following structure: An operation inspection should be performed in the same year as the plan is started. Two years later, a maintenance inspection will take place. In the last year of the phase, no inspection takes place. The phase should then be repeated indefinitely. This means that the phase starts again with the first line, i.e. with an operation inspection.

1.Select the tab Phase: 1.

2.Enter 4 in the Period drop-down list.

3.Select Years in field Unit.

4.Mark Repeat infinite.

5.Enter Operational in field 0.

6.Leave field 1 empty.

7.Enter Maintenance in field 2.

8.Leave field 3 empty.

9.Press Save to save the template.

Inspection plan with several phases

Inspection plans with several phases can be used, for example, when in the first phase you want to do a warranty inspection, which is only performed once, while in the next phase you want to do an operation inspection every two years.

1.If you instead choose to have several phases in your inspection plan, you first specify how many times the first phase is to be looped through in Select number of repetitions.

2.In the Phase: 2 tab, select what the second phase should look like.

You now get an inspection plan with two phases, one is run through once with inspections every two years. Thereafter, phase two starts with inspections every year. This phase is then looped indefinitely.

The Select number of repetitions option means that the current phase is repeated x times and then the template goes to the next phase. If this option is selected, an additional phase tab is obtained where the above settings need to be set.

Edit plan template

1.Select Maintainer > Edit plan templates.

2.Select a plan template and press Edit.

You can add new filters to specify which objects to include in the plan template, but you cannot remove existing filters, as the template might be used with those objects.
