This function allows you to test connections without affecting stored data, the current connection status, or what other users see. The dialog displays a simulated switching state where dynamic coloring, symbols, and customer impact are updated after each simulated operation. For example, you can simulate how an outage affects customers, verify that the correct area is disconnected, and ensure that the restoration works as intended.
You can simulate operations from an existing switch order or operating order, or create a standalone simulation from the Operator menu.
Open Simulate operations
From the Operator menu:
1.Select Operator > Simulate operations.
2.Add operations manually in the dialog box.
From an outage or operating order:
1.In the south panel, select the Outage tab.
2.Select an outage or an operating order.
3.In the east panel, select the Switch order or Operation rows tab.
4.Press Simulate operations

If there is a saved simulation associated with the outage or operating order, you can open it via the arrow menu next to the Simulate operations button. |
Work in the dialog box
1.Select whether the simulation should be based on Actual or Normal state.

Use Actual state when you want to plan or check an action based on the current situation. Use Normal state when you want to plan future work that is expected to start from normal operation. This selection affects only the simulation. It does not change the actual switching state. |
2.Review the operation rows in the table.
3.Press Execute the next operation 
to simulate the next row.
4.Press Undo the execution of the last operation 
to go back one step in the simulation.
5.Right-click on a row and select Simulate to selected rows if you want to simulate directly up to a specific row.

Rows that cannot be executed are highlighted in red. The status icon in the Executed column indicates whether a row has been executed |

, or whether it has failed

Add and edit operations
1.Press Add a new operation 
.
2.Select an object on the map.
3.Select which operation to simulate for the object.
4.Repeat these steps to add more operations.

and delete 
if you want to add corresponding operations in reverse order, for example, to plan for reconnection.
Planned time
Planned time can be used to check the chronological order in a simulation.
1.Display the Planned time column using the column selector 
if it is not already displayed.
2.Right-click the row you want to change and select Edit simulated planned time.
3.Enter a new time.

The planned time must follow the row order. A row cannot have a planned time that is earlier than the rows above it or later than the rows below it. |

When you add new operations to a simulation, you can specify the planned time as you select the objects. |
Affected customers
The Customers (R) column shows the number of affected customers for the individual row. The Customers (Σ) column shows the cumulative number of affected customers up to the simulated row.
1.Simulate up to the row you want to analyze.
2.Review the customer impact in the table.
3.Right-click one or more rows and select Show customers affected by the simulation to open the customer list.
4.Use the customer list as a basis for further announcements.
Save and open simulations
1.Press Save to save the current simulation.
2.If prompted, choose whether to overwrite an existing saved simulation.
3.Press the arrow menu next to the Simulate operations button to open a previously saved simulation.

A saved simulation contains both the operation lines and the progress of the simulation. |
