Symbol and Text Components

When you place symbol or text components on the map, you can right-click to select various placement options.

These features are used, among other things, to control the component’s rotation, orientation, and placement relative to other objects on the map.

Function

Description

Place Without Rotation

Places the component without rotation.

Select rotation with the mouse pointer

Allows you to specify the component’s rotation using the mouse pointer before placement.

Snap to right angles

Limits rotation to right angles.

Snap to right angles

Helps align the component to right angles during placement.

Rotation relative to nearest line

Rotates the component based on the direction of the nearest line component.

Rotation relative to object

Rotates the component based on the orientation of a selected object.

Enter Coordinates

Opens a dialog box where coordinates can be entered manually.

Place relative to

Used to position the component relative to another object on the map.

Geodesy

Opens the geodetic placement tool.

Cancel

Cancels the current placement.
