Right-click in the map tree

In the map tree, you can right-click on product classes, object types, and graphic component types to display a menu with functions for controlling how map data is displayed in the graphic view.

The options displayed depend on the type of object that is selected and the functions available for the current component.

Show and Hide Map Data

Using the right-click menu, you can control which objects and components are displayed on the map.

Common options include:

Function

Description

Scale dependent

Displays objects within their defined scale range.

Show

Displays selected objects regardless of scale.

Hide

Hides selected objects.

Scale dependent, hide others

Displays only selected objects according to their scale range.

Show, hide others

Displays only selected objects.

If a component is set to be scale-dependent, it appears on the map only within the scale range defined for that component. For example, a component might be set to appear between scales of 1:1000 and 1:4000.

In the map tree, the display mode is indicated by different text colors:

Black text – displayed scale-dependent.

Blue text – displayed regardless of scale.

Gray text – hidden.

To select multiple objects in the map tree, hold down Ctrl or Shift while clicking on the objects.

Drawing Attributes

For graphical components, there are options to view and change drawing attributes.

Examples of functions:

View drawing attributes

Edit drawing attributes

Color saturation

Transparency

Using these functions, you can temporarily customize how map data is displayed in the graphical view.

For more information, see the section on Drawing attributes.

Reset Map Settings

If you have changed display settings or drawing attributes in the map tree, you can reset them via the right-click menu.

The Reset function restores the component’s display settings to their original values. If multiple components are selected, all selected components are reset.

To reset the entire map, use the Reset button at the bottom of the Map tab.

In combination products, you can also reset a single map product to its original drawing attributes by right-clicking the map product and selecting Reset according to underlying product.
