New drawing frame (Ctrl-N)

The option New drawing frame opens the dialog box Format for new drawing frame. Choose the settings you wish to use for the new drawing frame.

Open drawing frame

The option Open drawing frame lets you open an already existing drawing frame.

Create copy...

The option saves a copy of an opened drawing frame and allows you to enter a new name for the drawing frame. You can create a copy of a drawing frame and save it with the same name. Then you can separate the drawing frames by the different dates and times when they were created.

Change format...

This option provides an opportunity to change the format of the drawing frame. In the dialog box that opens, you can change the paper size, orientation and margins.

Scenario:

1.Create a drawing frame in a "small" format, for example, A4.

2.File > Create Copy ... (that creates a copy of the drawing frame).

3.File > Change format ... (here change to a larger format of the copy, for example, A3). The paper area will be expanded from A4 to A3. The drawing frame will have the same content in the new format A3.

4.Move the content of the drawing frame using, for example, Settings > Grid > 1mm, Settings > Grid [x] grid lock. Use the Arrow tool to select all content in the frame, or use the Move component. In a slightly zoomed-in position with the grid lock on, it is easy to move the frame content to the right place.

Change name

The option Change name, let you change name on an already existing drawing frame.

Delete drawing frame

The option Delete drawing frame let you delete an existing drawing frame.

Inactivate drawing frame

The option inactivate drawing frame allows you to decide which drawing frames should not be selectable to use in the application.

Activate drawing frame

The option activate drawing frame allows you to decide which drawing frames to select for use in the application.

Export

•Current drawing frame to file:

The alternative allows you to export the current drawing frame to file. The alternative opens the dialog Save and is set to .dps files as the preselected file type.

•Selected drawing frames to file:

The alternative allows you to export several drawing frames to file. A dialog is opened with the current drawing frames and allows you to select several drawing frames that should be exported. After you have selected which drawing frames that should be exported, the dialog Save is opened which is set to .dps files as the preselected file type.

Import drawing frames...

The alternative makes it possible to import drawing frames that has previously been exported. The alternative opens the dialog Open which makes it possible to select which file that should be imported.

Close application window

The option Close application window closes the application window Edit drawing frame.
