•ID number
•Street address
•Subtype
•Manufacturer
•Operational date and installation
The structure of the form depends on the type of object. Some objects have simple forms with only a few attributes, while others have more complex forms with many tabs and extensive information.
Despite variations between objects, all attribute forms follow the same basic principles:
•The title bar displays the object’s subtype and status.
•Information is organized in tabs. The object data tab is preselected and contains the most common attributes.
•In text fields, any text can be entered.
•Drop-down lists contain predefined values. They can be linked, so that one selection controls what is displayed in other lists. All values come from so-called code lists.
•In date fields, you can either select the date via a calendar or enter it directly.
•Some fields are automatically filled in and cannot be changed manually.
At the bottom of the form there is a search field where you can search for fields throughout the attribute form - even in other tabs. If the field you are looking for is in the tab that is open, the field name is highlighted in yellow. If the field is in another tab, a yellow circle appears on the tab name to indicate its location. The shortcut key to access the search field is Ctrl - F.
The icon at the bottom of the attribute form gives access to the same functions that appear when you right-click on the object in the map. You do not need to go back to the graphical view to access the shortcuts linked to the object.
To undo a change to a field in the attribute form, you can do one of the following: •Press Ctrl + z. •Right-click in the field and select Undo all changes. This will reset the field to the last saved value. |
1.Select Edit > Show / Change Attributes.
2.Select an object in the graphic view. The attribute form opens.
If you as a user have the right to write in the system, you can change, add and delete attribute data. If you only have read rights in the system, the attribute form shows all input boxes grayed out, and you can then only read the information, not edit it. The same applies to objects that are locked, ie objects that are currently being edited in another pessimistic changeset.
Some objects have mandatory attributes. Values for these must be specified when the object is first placed in the graphical view. Typically, the ID attribute is mandatory, but other attributes may also be mandatory. Incomplete mandatory attributes are indicated by pink text fields. The names of the tabs that have pink text fields are red. |
You can link external documents in the attribute forms that further describe an object in dpCom. This can be drawings that show in detail the appearance of a line type, image material produced in connection with an inspection or review, or some other type of supplementary information about an object that is contained in documents outside dpCom.
The documents can be linked to objects in two ways:
•Linked documents - Documents that are linked to objects with links. If the documents are stored on a common network, they are accessed by all users with access to the network.
•Database documents - Documents that are linked to objects and stored in the database in <% PRODUCT%>. They can also be displayed in the <% PRODUCT%> Webmap. In Organizer Webmap, they can also be created, edited and saved.
The maximum pixel size for a database document is 7000×7000 pixels. |
The documents are displayed in a table. Press the arrow on the far right of the table header row to select which columns to display. |
If an object has linked documents, this is marked by an asterisk (*) in the tab.
