Cross-sections are used to visualize the contents of one or more routes. Cross-sections allow you to see how objects are positioned within the route and provide an overview of its structure.
Cross-sections can be placed manually or generated for multiple routes simultaneously.
View cross-sections
1.Right-click a route on the map.
2.Select Show Cross section.
The cross section appears in the graphical view.
Place cross sections
The Place cross sections for routes function is used to automatically create cross sections for one or more routes at the same time. This saves you from having to place each cross section manually on the map.
1.Right-click on a route on the map.
2.Select Place cross sections for multiple routes. The Place cross sections for multiple routes window opens.
3.Specify the desired settings for the placement.
4.Click OK.
Once the placement is complete, cross sections are automatically created for the selected routes according to the specified settings.
Settings
In the dialog box, you can, among other things, choose to:
•place cross sections only for routes that lack cross sections,
•place the cross sections in the center of the route,
•specify the orientation of new cross sections.
Multiple options can be combined at the same time.

The direction selection (north, west, south, or east) affects only new cross-sections. Existing cross sections are not affected. |

If multiple routes are to be selected at the same time, the Select with dialog function can be used. The function is available in the toolbar or under: Edit > Select > Select with dialog |
