The ports used as connection inputs for optical fiber can be fully or partially integrated into a switch unit or sit on so-called switch cards that are placed in card slots or slots in the switch. Such cards (or modules) are designed with different numbers of ports, depending on the type and manufacturer. In dpCom, you can design switch cards according to the supplier's specifications and then connect the cards to switch objects.

Create a product specification for a Card type

1.Select Administration > Create Product Specification > Card.

2.Fill in information about the card type on the left of the form.

3.In the contact template on the right, specify how the card is designed in terms of Number of ports, Number of fiber contacts on each port, and Type of port. Note! Pink fields are mandatory, i.e. they must be filled.

4.Click OK.

5.By using button Change all objects that use this product specification, you can updated product specification and all linked objects.
