The symbol editor is used to create, edit and delete symbols.
To start the symbol editor, the EDITSYMBOLS role is required. |
Symbols are stored in the database table DP_SYMBOLS, which contains the following fields:
•SYMBOL_FONT - The name of the symbol font.
•SYMBOL_NR - Unique ID of the symbol.
•SHAPE - Geometry of the symbol.
•OUTLINE - Symbol delimiter, used for scaling and rotation.
A symbol is identified by a unique combination of symbol font and symbol ID. For example, the symbol font "My_font" can contain symbols with ID "symbol1", "symbol2", etc.
The OUTLINE object contains a center point that serves as the positioning, scaling and rotation point of the symbol.
The Symbol editor consists of two main windows: Main window and Edit window. Both windows contain:
•Graphic view - Displays and edits symbols.
•Menu bar - Contains menus for the application's functions.
•Toolbar - Contains buttons for quick access to tools.
•Name bar - Displays information such as application name, symbol font if selected.
•Sidebar - Tabs for functions such as Map, Load symbol font, Place object, Order graphics.
•Status bar - Displays tool information, messages and mouse position.
