When you place an object in the graphical view, one or more graphical components are created to represent the object on the map or diagram.
The components that are created depend on the object type. For example, a point object can be represented by a symbol and text, while a line object is represented by one or more line components.
Once the object has been created, additional components can often be added as needed. For more information, see the section “Placing a Component.”
To save new objects to the database, you must commit the changeset that contains the changes. Until then, the objects are only visible in your own workspace.
1.Open the Place Object tab in the sidebar or press F9.
2.Select the object type to be placed.
3.Specify any placement options.
4.Click Place Object.
5.Place the object in the graphic view.
How object types are displayed and organized varies by product, but the procedure is the same.
The following options may be available before placement begins:

Place in Sequence |
Allows you to place multiple objects of the same type without restarting the placement process. |
Show Attribute Form |
Displays the object’s attributes before placement is performed. |
Save attributes |
Reuses attributes from previously placed objects. |
