Limiting access to network data in Organizer Webmap

With the basic role assignments for Organizer Webmap described above, the user can get access to view and edit all network data for a utility, once a task has been loaded. It is however possible to limit this access by assigning additional roles. These role assignments will then have a limiting effect on the rights awarded by the roles described in the previous section.

If none of the below roles are assigned, the user will have access according to the roles described in the previous section, without further limitations.

Role

Description

OWM_VIEW_ALL_EDIT_WS

The user can view all network data, but only edit the network data available in the workset of an opened task and any objects linked to that task.

OWM_VIEW_WS_EDIT_WS

The user can only view and edit the network data available in the workset of an opened task and any objects linked to that task. If no task has been opened, the user will not see any network data.

If both these roles are assigned to a user, the role giving the most limitations will take precedence, i.e. the user can only view and edit network data in the workset of the opened task.

An example of usage of these limiting roles is when an activity is assigned to an external contractor, e.g. for excavation. This user will need to see the location of the designed trench (available in the task's workset) but will not need to have access to the entire network.

These limiting roles can sometimes be the reason for nor being able to view or edit network data in Organizer Webmap, when this is expected. Checking the role assignments should be part of an investigation to correct the problem.
