Appendix 5: Meter alarm types

When certain events occur in the power grid the smart meters can send alarms to dpPower. dpPower is configured with thresholds and when these thresholds are met, an outage is created and a faulty device is located based on the alarms that have arrived to dpPower. If more alarms are sent to dpPower, the faulty device will be recalculated and moved based on the location of the meters that send the alarms. If no new alarm arrives in a configurable amount of time, the outage is automatically verified, the first row in the switch order is executed and the faulty device is locked.

As opposed to alarms that is caused by failure in the grid, the smart meters can send the counterpart, a restoration alarm, i.e. when smart meters lose power and send alarms to dpPower and an outage is created from these alarms, when the smart meters regains the power they can send restoration alarms to dpPower and outages that were created can be restored. The result of the events will be displayed in the map automatically.
