Predefined calculations

The predefined reference calculation function allows you to perform predefined reference calculations in the network. The function executes a balanced load flow and short circuit calculation within a of the network defined by a fixed trace, starting from an equivalent source or a slack busbar and extending down to include the low-voltage network.

When the calculation completes successfully, it is saved as a reference calculation. Any previous reference calculation from the same equivalent source is moved to the general calculations category.

Display available reference calculations

An overview of all the available reference calculations and their status is available in the Predefined calculation tab found in the Results/Administration form.

The table lists all available Equivalent source objects that are in state In use.

Automatic calculation

The Analyzer administrator can configure the system to automatically execute selected calculations at regular intervals through a scheduled job on the application server.

Enable or Disable Automatic calculation mode

1.Press the Settings icon.

2.Check the Active box to enable automatic execution of configured calculations. I the box is not checked, calculations will not run automatically.

Execute reference calculations

Predefined reference calculations can be executed in two ways:

Manually - A calculation is initiated by the user.

Automatically - Calculations are queued or scheduled for automatic execution.

All calculations, whether manual or automatic, use the parameter template settings defined by the administrator in the form. To control the execution of a single calculation, right-click a row in the Predefined calculations table. The following options are available in the right-click menu:

Calculate -  Executes the calculation manually. Only one calculation can run at a time.

Run consistency control - Executes the calculation manually with consistency control enabled. This does not generate a reference calculation, so a successful run will not replace the existing reference calculation. This option allows testing the calculation to ensure it completes successfully. If it fails, warnings and messages will indicate potential issues.

Highlight trace - Highlights the network section included in the reference calculation.

Enqueue - Adds the calculation to the queue for execution at the next scheduled time, as defined by the scheduled job, if automatic execution mode is active. Once executed, the calculation is removed from the queue.

Schedule - Schedules the calculation for periodic execution based on the defined schedule, if automatic execution mode is active.

Calculation results

The status of calculations can be viewed in the Predefined calculations table under the following columns:

Calculation status - Displays the current or most significant recent status, such as Queued, Running, Success, Success with warning or Failure.

Calculation ID - The ID of the last successful calculation.

Last successful calculation - The timestamp of the last successful calculation.

Message - Displays the most recent calculation message.

Warnings - Indicates the number of calculation warnings.

If a calculation is successful, it is saved as a new reference calculation, and the previous reference calculation from the same equivalent source is moved to the general calculations category. This ensures that the most recent successful calculation is always stored as the reference.

However, if a calculation fails, it is not saved as a reference. In such cases, the previous reference calculation remains unchanged, allowing the system to retain the last successful reference calculation. You can then investigate and resolve the issues with the current calculation.
