Line objects are used for features represented by a line on the map, such as power lines, cables, paths, fences, and boundaries.
1.Select the object type you want to place.
2.Click Place Object.
3.Specify any attributes.
4.Click on the map to place the first vertex.
5.Continue placing vertices until the feature has the desired alignment.
6.Double-click or right-click and select Create Component to complete the placement.
The object is created with one or more graphical components.
In several products, line objects can be placed between existing vertices.
When you move the mouse pointer over a node, it is highlighted. Click the node to connect the object to it.
•When paths are placed, they can be connected to existing nodes on the map. If no start node is selected, a waypoint is created automatically.
•Objects placed along a path can also be positioned along an entire path by selecting a start node and an end node. If multiple possible paths exist, the desired path can be selected from a list.
•If the “Place Cross-Section” feature is used, a cross-section is placed at the end of the selected path.
