Extend route content from drop-off points to customer nodes

The primary use case for this tool is to facilitate the step-by-step design of connections to customer nodes. For instance, a design may initially involve preparing the network for homes, with the network's endpoint being a drop-off point near the property's border containing the customer node. When a customer later orders a real connection, the final route object is created between the drop-off point and the customer node. This means that any ducts and/or cables terminating at the drop-off point must be extended to the customer node.

This tool operates on one or more customer nodes. Each customer node should have a route object connecting it to a drop-off point, and the drop-off point should have a route object connecting it to the main routes along the street. For each selected customer node, the tool will:

Identify the drop-off point.

Find the route content between the drop-off point and the rest of the network.

Extend that route content to the connection between the customer node and the drop-off point.

1.Select customer nodes in the map.

2.In the menu bar, select Edit > Pipes and routes > Extend route content from drop-off points to customer nodes. A dialog opens showing which routes the route contents has been extended to.

3.Press Close.
