Topology describes how objects are connected to or related to one another.

Using the features under Edit > Object, you can, among other things:

•connect and disconnect objects,

•split objects,

•merge objects,

•create or remove relationships between objects.

 

Examples of topological relationships include:

•a cable connected to a node,

•a conduit containing optical cables.

 

In dpCom, topology is used both to describe relationships between objects in the horizontal plane and to describe how objects are organized in the vertical plane.

Vertical relationships are used to describe how one object is located within or contained by another object.

One example is the Place cable/pipe in route function, where cables and pipes are connected to the structure in which they are placed.
