Component

Place a component to an existing object in one of the available map types. The set of available components depends on the selected object type.

If you try to select a graphical view in which the component cannot be placed, the symbol appears at the mouse cursor. In the status bar, the message Invalid map product is displayed.

If the symbol is displayed, it is because that component cannot be displayed in the current scale. Zoom in in the graphic view and the component will be displayed.
