Connect

Connects two objects, effectively linking them together as part of a topological network.

1.Select Edit > Object > Connect > Connect. Or press Connect in the toolbar.

2.Select an object (A) to connect.

3.Select an object (B) to connect to object (A).

Connection instructions and connection status is shown in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

It is also possible to select an object first, activate the function Connect and select an object to connect to.

The objects are highlighted when the function is used.

 

 

 

Connect fiber automatically

The function gives you a question when you connect cable to ODF about automatically connecting fibers as well.

There must be nothing connected before and the number of contacts and fibers must match exactly.

1.Select Settings > Preferences.

2.Select the dpCom tab.

3.Check the Connect fibers and contacts automatically box. The function is activated.

 

Connect ducts

You can use the Connect function to connect two ducts by selecting them in the map or in an autoview. The following applies when connecting ducts:

The selected ducts must share a common end node.

If the connection involves a node containing a duct joint closure, the connection will occur within the existing duct joint closure.

After a successful connection, the tool automatically activates Highlight objects above from trace, allowing you to view the traced duct path.
