Change geometry

The function Change geometry is used to copy geometry for e.g. line objects, symbols and other geometries. The function can vary between the different applications with which geometries and symbols that are possible to use.

Start by selecting the line component, symbol or other geometry that should be changed and then select the line/symbol/geometry that should replace it.

The function is used to copy geometry on e.g. line objects, symbols and other geometries. The function can be used on different symbols and geometries depending on which of Digpro's products is used.

1.Point out the line component, symbol or other geometry to be replaced.

2.Then point on the line / symbol / geometry that will replace it.

Change geometry on route with help of reference data

To replace a planned route object of uncertain position with the help of a reference file, follow the steps below.

1.Load a reference file, containing the actual built route.

2.Open the reference file as a temporary bookmark: Window > Bookmarks. Select the area of interest for editing.

3.Select Place > Object... > Free graphics > Free postable graphics > Line. Select place object.

4.Right-click in the map, select Offset whole line object from the pop-up menu.

5.Select the line/object to copy with a right-click on the line/object. Several choices are shown. Select the right line/object by holding the mouse over the text, which contained highlighted objects. It is the route from the downloaded file that should be copied.

6.Set the Key-in distance to 0 meters to place the line object on top of the imported route.

7.Select a start point to begin the parallel copy procedure (a line is drawn).

If the object consists of several line components, right-click again and use Continue offset whole line object. Select the next part of the route and copy that part as well. Proceed with Continue offset whole line object until all of the geometries corresponds to the new route that have been copied. Double-click or right-click and select Create component.

A new line has now been placed on top of the route from the downloaded file.

8.Select the function Edit > Pipes and routes > Change geometry on route, and follow the instruction described above to replace the geometry of the route with the geometry of the line object.
